How to use
-
Switch apps on the board
Press **both buttons together** and keep holding: a bar fills along the bottom of the lights, and when it is full a picture starts to blink. That is the app menu. Press the **bottom button** to see the next app. Press the **top button** to start the app you see.
Press nothing for 20 seconds and the menu closes on the app you were in. Outside the menu a single press never switches apps: the buttons belong to the app you are using.
-
Choose and order your apps
Connect the board. In **Apps**, press **Put on board** to add an app, **Take off** to remove it, and the arrows to move it up or down. The first app plays when you switch the board on. Each app card says how to use that app.
-
Use the board from the page
In **Live board** you see what the lights show. Press and hold the **top** or **bottom button** there, or **both buttons**: they work like the real ones, so you can use the board when it is out of reach.
Apps
✓ Saved
These are the apps your board can run. Connect it to choose which ones are on it and in what order.
In the app menu
The board steps through these apps, in this order. The first plays when you switch the board on. Every change is saved on the board at once and stays when you switch it off.
More apps
Press **Put on board** to add an app to the menu.

Software update
Takes about half a minute. Keep the board close and this page open. A failed update does not harm the board: press Connect and try again.
For developers: install a custom file
Your own .bin file is at your own risk and has to be built for this board. The file goes from your browser straight to the board.
Sensors
Calibrate the sensors if the compass points the wrong way or the sand and the level are not level. It takes about two minutes. The result is stored on the board for good and survives updates.
Tilt sensor (sand, level, dice)
Put the board down on each of its six sides, one after the other, in any order. Hold it still until the side's tile turns green.
Compass
Press Start, then slowly turn the board in every direction, like drawing a figure eight in the air, until the ring is full.
Update the software to calibrate the sensors.
3D debug
not loaded until opened
A simple 3D view of the board in space, drawn from the raw sensors before any calibration, with its X, Y and Z axes and the roll, pitch and yaw they give. Drag the picture to look around.
Help and questions
if something does not work
-
If something goes wrong
- **It does not connect:** check that the board is on and Bluetooth is on, switch the board off and on, and press Connect again. If you just used another page or app with it, wait a minute.
- **An update does not start:** switch the board off and on and try again. Still stuck? Hold the bottom button while you switch it on: an arrow on the lights means update mode, ready for new software.
- **Nothing happens when you press a button:** single presses belong to the app. To change apps, hold both buttons for 2 seconds.
- **The menu will not go away:** wait 20 seconds, or press the top button to start the app you see.

Questions
- **Are my apps still there after I switch the board off?** Yes. The list and its order are kept on the board.
- **How many apps can I have?** Eight are on offer and the list can hold up to 16, so all of them fit.
- **How do I switch the board on and off?** With its power switch. The first app on your list plays when it comes on.
- **How do I leave update mode?** Switch the board off and on again. Update mode never changes the software unless you press Install.
- **The compass or the level is off. What now?** Calibrate the sensors in the Sensors card. A calibration is kept on the board, also when you update the software.
